ID Performance by Carolina Cantinho

Carolina Cantinho was selected by the Dakkan Festival, in Antwerp, to create a site-specific performance during an artistic residency. Through a series of workshops she worked with local residents of all stripes, creating a new dance performance in which the roof terrace plays a central role.

Synopsis

iD is a performative game with a group of people of all ages, held in a high place and away from the city, which makes us take a stand on seemingly simple issues and reflect on who we are.
Nothing is conventional, but simultaneously, nothing is strange. The immensity welcomes us and shows us what we want and can see. We cross the landscape and live it inside ourselves. We create inner narratives that take us to places where only we can fully penetrate. We climb to the sky, in a fearless, intrepid flight! We have our feet on the ground and our heart yearning not to petrify. We move to break down walls.
