Tatanka invites Milhanas

Born in Sintra and owner of an unmistakable charisma and voice, Tatanka became known as the lead singer of one of the most successful Portuguese bands of today - The Black Mamba. In 2016 he started his solo career, in a more personal way and returning to his roots, telling stories and presenting original songs in Portuguese. In 2017 he sold out Sala 2 at Casa da Música and returned to perform at Sala Suggia the following year. In 2019 he released his debut album, Little Noise.
Also in 2017, Tatanka took on the mission of musical mentor of the project “7 Maravilhas de Portugal - Aldeias”, invited by Tavolanostra Producer. Throughout the galas he performed, with several guest artists, unique and intimate acoustic moments, in the context of each host village. Raquel Tavares, Aurea, Os Azeitonas, António Zambujo, Mariza Liz, The Black Mamba, Ana Bacalhau, Lúcia Moniz and Luísa Sobral were the chosen guests. In 2021 he participated in the Festival da Canção as a guest composer, with the song Love Is On My Side, interpreted by The Black Mamba.

Milhanas, born in 2001, began studying music at a very young age. She studied violin, vocal technique, was part of a jazz combo and another of modern music, participated in the gospel choir, musical training, music history, composition and even Musical Theater.

She released her first original song, Lamentos, in 2021. Born at dawn, this sad song, in which Milhanas complains about her lamentations and cries the urge to feel at peace, reveals a fado soul. The artist confesses that, although she is not a fado singer, it is in fado that she draws inspiration and reminds herself of the importance of words, silence and interpretation.

In 2023 she released her second single, Mais que ao Sol. The lyrics express a love of submission and without freedom, in the words of Milhanas. This song anticipates the artist's debut album, to be released soon, and which will also feature Lamentos. More recently, she edited Mundo, a single produced by AGIR and Justjon. This is a melancholy song that blends both traditional genres and more modern beats in music.

Milhanas was nominated for Breakthrough Artist at the 2023 Portuguese Music Play Awards.
